A 28-year-old North Carolina man has pled guilty to a 2019 triple-murder in which two women and an infant were found dead in Sanford.

Kareem Daquan Taylor pled guilty to three counts of first-degree murder.

In January 2019, 22-year-old Jocelyn Perkins and 20-year-old Jasmine Perkins were found dead at a home on Forest Manor Drive. Six-month-old Kareena Perkins was also found dead.

Kareem Taylor is the father of Kia’Reena and Jocelyn Perkins was the mother of Kia’Reena. Jasmine Perkins was Kia’Reena’s aunt and Jocelyn Perkins’ sister.

After Taylor’s first court appearance on Monday, authorities said he lived in the home with his child and the two sisters, adding that he was in a relationship with Jocelyn Perkins.

A man dropping a friend off at the home made the jarring discovery.

In a 911 call, a man described a gruesome scene after opening the front door and looking inside when no one answered.

“There is blood all over this house. Somebody’s on the floor here too. There’s two bodies,” the caller said. “The female is dead. She’s cold. Two bodies are cold, cold as ice.”

The man was able to find a surviving child in the home.

When deputies arrived, they found a 3-year-old girl unharmed at the front door, while the other woman and the 6-month-old were found dead in bedrooms of the home.

“All three victims had suffered extensive sharp force injuries and associated fatal blood loss. Taylor was apprehended the following day on Jan. 12, 2019,” according to a release from Harnett County District Attorney Suzanne Matthews.

Taylor pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder and was sentenced to three consecutive terms of life in prison without parole, Matthews said.
