Fayetteville police in North Carolina identified the high school student who sources said killed his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself on Wednesday, according to reports.

At 8:15 a.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a home in the 3700 block of Carlos Ave. after receiving reports of a shooting.

According to Fayetteville police, 18-year-old Nasir Scott was taken to the hospital with self-inflicted gunshot wounds where he died.

18-year-old Tatiana Haywood, who was identified as the shooter’s girlfriend and a graduating senior at Douglas Byrd High School, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Haywood was set to graduate from this school two weeks from today. Her family is no longer planning a celebration but instead a funeral.
