An Florida mother and her Alabama stepfather, who also happens to be her boyfriend, are being charged with the murder the mother’s 2-month-old child, following a death investigation conducted in April in Escambia County, Alabama.
The mother, 24-year-old Shelby Comalander, and her stepfather, 48-year-old Larry Jackson, were arrested after a death investigation from April 9 shows that the 2-month-old suffered head trauma and numerous bruises to the body.
Comalander is charged with murder and aggravated child abuse.
Jackson is charged with murder, aggravated child abuse, and possession of methamphetamine.
A thorough investigation was completed by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Department of Human Resources leading to the arrest of Comalander and Jackson.
Both suspects are being held in Escambia County, Alabama Jail without bond pending a hearing.
The case is still open and no other information will be released at this time.
