A 41-year-old Pennsylvania man called 911 and admitted shooting his wife and another man in an attack Tuesday night at a Whitehall Township park that left his spouse dead and the man wounded, prosecutors said.
Rami Abouloh was arrested at his city home and charged with homicide, attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault, court records show.
Abouloh is being held in Lehigh County Jail without bail.
Officers found a wounded woman and man, and both were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
The woman, later identified as 35-year-old Patricia White, was pronounced dead at 7:26 p.m., court records say. An autopsy is planned Thursday for White but Coroner Daniel Buglio said Wednesday he ruled the death a homicide.
The other victim was treated for wounds to his chest and arm, police said.
At 7:13 p.m., Abouloh called 911 and told the dispatcher his wife was with the man in the park and he shot them, records say.
Abouloh wanted police to come to his Allentown home in the 100 block of East Hamilton Street, where he had the loaded gun he used in a cabinet, records say.
Minutes later, Allentown police arrived at the home, and officers saw Abouloh walk out to the front porch while he was still on the phone with a 911 operator.
Abouloh was arrested and reportedly told police, “That’s what happens when you cheat,” court records say.
Police said they found Abouloh’s three children inside the home, as well as a black and silver semi-automatic firearm and a magazine inside a closet.
