A 26-year-old Nebraska woman was arrested in relation to a homicide investigation for a missing Omaha man.
Erykha Wilson was taken into custody for accessory to first-degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Laron Hodges.
Hodges was reported missing to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on February 7, and family members said he was last seen on February 2.
Authorities said their investigation led them to Hodges’ vehicle in an impound lot — they performed a search, finding his body concealed inside a garbage can in the vehicle.
According to court documents, Hodges was shot 21 times and had met up with Wilson on the day that he went missing.
A search warrant shows Hodges and Wilson were in a relation ship that “became contentious” in late January.
In the warrant, deputies note a strange text message on February 2 from Wilson to Hodges about meeting up for a sexual relationship which “seemed out of place and it seemed that Erykha wanted to ensure Laron would come to her residence..”
Wilson told investigators she was working the night Hodges went missing, but a search of her phone indicates a text message conversation showing the two met up.
