A Maryland woman shot on Tuesday has died due to her injuries, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Police said officers were patrolling the 1300 block of Booth Street on June 6 around 6:30 p.m. when they witnessed a shooting.

Officers found a 21-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his legs in the unit block of North Carey Street, police said, and 46-year-old Kimberly Benjamin suffering a gunshot wound to her head at the intersection of McHenry Street and South Carey Street.

Both victims were taken to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries, police said.

Police said despite lifesaving measures, hospital staff pronounced Benjamin dead on June 7.

“An unidentified man was arrested at the intersection of McHenry Street and South Carey Street and is currently a person of interest,” police said.
