A New York man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his sister to death on Wednesday in East Harlem, according to the NYPD.

Authorities responded to a 911 call at an NYCHA building on Madison Avenue and found 20-year-old Shayla Johnson, stabbed once in her neck and once in her chest. Police arrested 26-year-old Rodney Johnson and charged him with murder, Wednesday night.

The suspect chased his sister from room to room, while stabbing her several times, according to court documents. Shayla Johnson had at least 6 stab wounds and suffered multiple injuries, officials said.

First responders tried to revive the victim, but she later died from her extensive injuries. The suspect also confessed to stabbing his sister, telling a 911 operator and a first responder, officials said.

Before the attack, Johnson took to Facebook and posted “how he was angry with his family and warned that his Facebook friends likely wouldn’t hear from him again and that he had reached a breaking point,” according to court documents.

Johnson also had prior arrests, for criminal contempt, and a domestic violence adjudication for harassment of another family member, according to court documents.
