A 34-year-old South Carolina man was shot and killed during a drive-by shooting at a Sumter home, according to a Facebook post from Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Anthony Rashod Major was outside his home when he was shot by suspects who fired numerous rounds from a vehicle. The shooting happened late Sunday night.
Sumter County Dispatch issued the report of shots fired in the vicinity of Patricia Drive at 10:43 pm. Units from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office immediately responded to the scene where they found Major. Emergency Medical Services and an official from the Office of the Coroner arrived at the scene and transported the victim.
Investigators at the scene began processing evidence while patrol units began a search for the vehicle.
Sheriff Anthony Dennis commented, “A life has been taken and along with the help of our community, our investigators are focused on finding the person or persons responsible. As in all cases, we will follow every piece of evidence for as long as it takes to bring justice.” Dennis also asked for prayer for the family of the victim.
A reward of up to $3,000.00 has been offered to those who provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) responsible for the murder.
