An arrest warrant sheds light on Friday’s deadly shooting inside a Home Depot in Florida, according to online reports.
20-year-old Keith Agee of Calvert, Alabama, was arrested shortly following the shooting and charged with first-degree premeditated murder and aggravated battery.
The sheriff confirmed Friday that Agee entered the store on Davis Highway around 1:30 p.m. and fatally shot a female contract employee with Home Depot. Deputies say Agee knew the victim who has been identified as 18-year-old Brooklyn Sims.
The arrest report local news obtained states two other employees also sustained gunshot wounds during the shooting.
According to the arrest report, video footage from the Home Depot security system shows Agee entering the store and eventually make a turn down aisle 52.
The other two gunshot victims working in the same aisle as Sims told deputies that Agee said something briefly to her before firing about five gunshots.
The report states one employee had a bullet graze her back as she was running from the aisle, while the other had a bullet graze her hand as she ran away. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment.
According to the report, deputies found Sims deceased in aisle 52.
The report states Home Depot video shows Agee running from the store through the entrance following the shooting. He got into a silver four-door sedan and drove off towards Duval Street.
As deputies were still on scene, a man called 911 with his location and said he wanted to turn himself in, according to the report. The sheriff said deputies then arrested Agee at the Mellow Mushroom restaurant on Bayou Boulevard.
The arrest report states Agee told deputies that he started off his day by going to work at AM/NS Calvert in Mt Vernon, Alabama. He then received a call from a local medical office before driving to Pensacola.
Most of the rest of Agee’s statement to deputies is redacted in the report.
The report states deputies later recovered a gun at the Maaco on Davis Highway.
Court records show Agee was most recently arrested on Feb. 22 in Mobile on three counts of Domestic Violence 3rd Degree. The charges were then dropped.
He was also charged with Domestic Violence 3rd Degree on April 14, 2022, in Mobile. Those charged were also dropped.
Agee is being held in Escambia County Jail without bond.
