A 26-year-old Arizona man has allegedly admitted to murdering his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend and leaving the victim’s dead body inside a Phoenix apartment, according to reports.
Rene Penaloza was recently apprehended by police in Tucson after he was connected to the death of 25-year-old Harry Nguyenhuy Doan, Phoenix police said.
Penaloza had been in a relationship with Doan’s girlfriend and allegedly threatened the new boyfriend.
Doan’s body was found Monday night in an apartment near 7th Street and Thomas Road after a friend called police to conduct a welfare check on him. The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Penaloza has been booked into jail on multiple criminal charges, police said.
