An 18-year-old Ohio woman is dead after being shot in the chest Saturday morning in south Toledo, according to Toledo police.
Police say Jaelynn Poturalski was shot and killed by a 16-year-old male around 10:40 a.m.
The initial call was for a large fight in the 200 block of Langdon Street, TPD said. When officers arrived, they found Poturalski, suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the chest.
“(It was) a neighborhood dispute that somehow turned into a fight and at some point, a gun was pulled,” police told said.
Poturalski was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead at 11:26 a.m., according to police reports.
The 16-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene. He was booked into the Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center and charged with murder.
On September 3, the Lucas County Coroner’s office performed and autopsy on Poturalski, determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the chest and ruled her death as a homicide.
