A 23-year-old Florida man has been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting Friday at an apartment complex in Orlando, police said.
The shooting was reported shortly before 2:30 p.m. at the Jernigan Gardens Apartments on Mercy Drive. A 22-year-old woman was killed. Three others were shot, but their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
Police identified the victim Saturday morning as Macayla Queen Patterson.
Multiple people have been shot in Pine Hills, according to the Orlando Police Department. Shortly before 4 p.m., there was a large police presence in the 1400 block of Mercy Drive. A second crime scene was located about a mile away near the intersection of Old Winter Garden Rd. and Duncan Pl.
Police also announced the arrest of 23-year-old Delray Shundale Duncan Junior on charges of first-degree felony murder and attempted homicide.
The first was at the apartment complex courtyard where the shooting reportedly happened.
The second was about a mile away at the intersection of Old Winter Garden Road and Duncan Place, where a vehicle was stopped and three people were detained. One of those people inside reportedly had a gunshot wound.
The investigation was ongoing, police said. No other details were released.
