A 25-year-old Texas woman has been charged in the murder case where a mother was found shot to death in Houston, according to a Twitter post from the Houston Police Department.

Lakiri Leeonna Tolliver is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old Laurielle Faulk.

On June 27, Faulk was found shot to death inside a unit at the supported living facility for homeless and low-income families, operated by The Women’s Home, in the 7600 block of Hammerly at about 5:50 p.m. on June 27.

According to police, a child, who the victim’s family identified as Faulk’s daughter, was present at the time of the murder.

An initial investigation identified a unknown male as a suspect in this incident. He was interviewed by homicide detectives and released with no charges filed.

Subsequent investigation identified Tolliver as the suspect in this case. After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Tolliver, who was already in custody since July 14, was charged for her role in this incident.

A motive remains unclear.

Anyone with information on the shooting or the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to contact HPD’s homicide division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
