An arrest report confirms the victim in Wednesday’s fatal stabbing in Florida is the father of the 31-year-old woman charged, according to reports.
Brea Delong was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with second-degree murder. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 67-year-old Timothy Delong.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. at a home on the 4900-block of Community Circle in Milton.
According to the arrest report obtained Thursday, a neighbor found Timothy Delong walking from the home with a stab wound to the neck. He told the neighbor he had been stabbed by his daughter Brea.
The neighbor tried to resuscitate Timothy Delong, but he was pronounced dead on scene.
The report states deputies located Brea Delong in the kitchen by a mop bucket with blood in the container. There was also blood smeared on the floor, as if someone had attempted to clean it up, deputies noted in the report.
“When I was explaining to her how the victim died and where he was stabbed, [Brea] started to smile and laugh,” the report reads.
The report also states Brea Delong had many inconsistencies in her statement to deputies.
According to the report, Brea Delong did not have any “marks, scratches, bruises, or self-defense wounds on her.”
Brea Delong remains in Santa Rosa County Jail on no bond.
A motive for the incident is not stated in the report.
