A 24-year-old Texas man was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing a 36-year-old man Saturday early morning in Seguin, according to the Seguin Police Department.

On September 2, 2023 at 2:11am, Seguin Police Department responded to shots fired on the 100 block of N River St. Upon arrival, officers found a male with a gunshot wound.

Seguin PD and Seguin FD immediately attempted lifesaving measures; however, the male succumbed to his injuries on scene and was pronounced deceased by Judge Sheryl Sachtleben.

The victim was later identified as 36-year-old Adrian Barbosa.

Through further investigation, the suspect was identified as 24-year-old Isaac Mesa Jr. Mesa was located and taken into custody by Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Mesa was transported and booked at Guadalupe County Jail for one count of murder. His bond was set at $1 million, according to the Guadalupe County Jail website.

This case continues to remain under investigation.
