Forrest County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi is investigating a shooting early Sunday at a Wiggins club party that left a woman dead, according to reports.
Deputies were called to Club 195 on Old Highway 49 in the early morning hours in response to a report of a shooting. The club has a Wiggins address but is in Forrest County.
Multiple people were injured in the incident. Three people had non-life threatening injuries but one victim died as a result of the shooting.
Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem identified the victim as 21-year-old Jade Rhodes.
Rhodes graduated from Oak Grove and attended Pearl River Community College and lived in Hattiesburg, according to her social media page.
Dozens of shell casings were recovered from the scene.
Sheriff Charlie Sims said he is asking the public for their help.
The Forrest County Sheriff’s Office is working on search warrants to get more details information about the shooting.
“People were at a party just having fun when certain individuals chose to setting a disagreement with gunfire,” Sims said. “We need to get back to basics and morals and teaching our children love and respect for others.”
