A 24-year-old Texas woman is dead and her boyfriend is in custody following what is said to be a brutal murder that occurred on Saturday morning in Jasper, according to reports.
Officers from the Jasper Police Department were dispatched to the Myrtis Village Apartments in the 200 block of Myrtis Street, just off of Highway 190 East, shortly before 5:00, when it was reported that the incident had occurred.
Reliable sources say officers arrived at the scene to find the resident of the home, 24-year-old Rosalin Lewis, had apparently been beat to death following a dispute or argument between she and the suspect, 23-year-old William Christian Thomas.
Police say her cause of death was “blunt force trauma.”
On Sunday morning, Thomas was charged with Murder and his bond was set at $1 million. He is currently being held in the Jasper County Jail.
