Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Texas where they said a man killed his wife and then turned the gun on himself on Christmas.

The shooting reportedly happened at a home in the 4820 block of Grasilla Drive in Houston.

Tuesday, the female victim was identified by the Harris County Medical Examiner as 34-year-old Fannie Uresti. The deceased male was identified as 43-year-old Roberto Hernandez.

According to officials, the Houston Police Department and the Houston Fire Department responded to the shooting around 10:17 Monday night.

Officers at the scene said they found a 43-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman upstairs in the home, who both had gunshot wounds.

Uresti was found with several gunshot wounds.

According to the Houston Police Department, Uresti had made a report about trouble in her marriage to police after walking into the South Gessner police station on December 14.

Police said that Uresti was worried that her husband was tracking her movements, and the day before had known where she had visited during the course of the day. She also said that she was in the process of divorcing her husband.

Uresti did not report physical abuse, so per policy, HPD gave her list of domestic violence resources. 11 days later, she was killed.

Additionally, officers said that the couple’s three daughters, ages 6, 9, and 14, were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
