The Columbus police Special Investigations Unit is asking for the public’s help to locate a woman who was kidnapped by her baby’s father Tuesday night near the Franklin Park area in Columbus, Ohio.
The woman, 39-year-old Ashley Freestone, was last seen in the area of East Main Street and Alum Creek Drive. Freestone and her boyfriend were getting off at a bus stop at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at East Main Street when 31-year-old Richard Patridge, the father of Freestone’s children, pulled up on a black motorcycle and pulled out a handgun.
Patridge ordered Freestone’s boyfriend to back away, then pointed the gun at Freestone and told her to get on the back of the motorcycle. Patridge then fled eastbound on East Main Street.
Freestone was last seen wearing black shorts, a gray hoodie, and black and white shoes. Patridge was last seen wearing a brown Carhartt style jacket.
Patridge is a wanted felon for pistol whipping Freestone’s boyfriend in an incident on August 21.
Columbus police say that Patridge should be considered armed and dangerous, and told the public to not approach him if he is seen. Anyone who sees Patridge or Freestone should call the Columbus police Special Investigations Unit at 614-645-4701 or 614-645-4545.
