Delaware State Police have released the names of the two victims and suspect involved in a double homicide that occurred Tuesday in Smyrna, Delaware.

Police on Thursday identified 38-year-old Stephanie Gill as the victim shot and killed in the parking lot of Smyrna Middle School and 21-year-old Deanna Dominick-Dalton as the victim found shot to death at a home at McLane Gardens in Smyrna. Police identified 47-year-old Llewellyn Gill as the suspect in both murders.

As WBOC first reported Tuesday, just before 10:30 a.m. that day, troopers responded to assist the Smyrna Police Department with someone shot in the parking lot at Smyrna Middle School located at 700 Duck Creek Parkway in Smyrna. The investigation that followed determined that Stephanie Gill and her husband, Llewellyn Gill, arrived at the school together in Stephanie’s vehicle to pick up their daughter for a medical appointment. Police said the couple got into an argument outside of the car, which led to Llewellyn pulling his wife back into the vehicle where he pulled out a gun shot her. Stephanie was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The school was placed on lockdown and a search for Llewellyn commenced. Police noted that all students and staffers at the school were accounted for and there was no active threat to the public.

Troopers said Llewellyn fled the scene alone in the vehicle the couple arrived in, and then switched into another vehicle that was registered to him and parked nearby. Troopers located the suspect vehicle just after 11 a.m. in the area of Route 13 and Route 42 and a pursuit ensued. Police said Llewellyn fled into Maryland and ultimately shot himself and crashed near Galena, Md. He was transported to a Maryland area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During the course of the investigation, troopers obtained information there could be a second victim, who was an acquaintance of Stephanie Gill. With the assistance of the Smyrna Police Department, officers responded to the 800 block of McLane Gardens in Smyrna to check on the welfare of Deanna Dominick-Dalton. Officers located her body inside of her home with apparent gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bodies have been turned over to the Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner and cause of death.

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit and Smyrna Police Department is continuing their investigation into this suspected murder/suicide incident. No motive has been established for this incident.
