Cuyahoga County officials received a potentially credible tip overnight about a baby they’ve been looking to identify.

“Baby Doe” was found Saturday around 9 p.m. at RTA’s stop at Superior and E. 105th St in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Families had initially said the baby was at the West Blvd. bus station and have not explained the discrepancy.

According to a press release, “the baby was found with a person who could not verify the relationship with the child.”

The man with the baby claimed to be her dad, but RTA police said, “Things we’re not adding up.” It’s not clear why the man was questioned in the first place.

The child has been in foster care since she was found Saturday.

The Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services is working with RTA police to identify the baby.

UH Rainbow babies hospital staff estimates the baby’s age to be between 3-6 months old.

Social workers were trying to make contact Tuesday with a person believed to be the child’s mother.

However, A Cuyahoga County spokesperson told us late Tuesday morning that “the one tip we received didn’t give us any valid information.”

They say the child is “doing well” in foster care.

There is no word on what happened to the man who was with the child. He has not been identified.

RTA is also asking for help to identify a woman at the scene.

RTA says she’s a person of interest who was on the scene but was not providing verifiable identification.

The baby girl, between 3-6 months old, is “doing well” in foster care.

Anyone who can identify the child should call 696-KIDS, 911 or local law enforcement.
