Two Georgia men are being held in the Cherokee County Jail on capital murder charges after investigators determined they shot two sisters to death in Alabama.
37-year-old Devon Watts and 24-year-old Christopher Pullen, were booked into the Cherokee County Jail Friday afternoon.
The two are charged with the May 2020 killing of half-sisters, 18-year-old Vanita Richardson and 30-year-old Truvenia Campbell, whose bodies were found dumped from a bridge in Rome, Georgia. A third suspect, Desmond Brown, has not been extradited to Alabama.
All three were arrested last year in Georgia, but were booked again in Cherokee County after investigators determined the crime happened there.

The two women were shot after Brown, Watts and Pullen took them in Brown’s car, believing they had taken his wallet at a house party. Campbell reportedly put up a fight when Brown wanted to search the woman and was shot, and then Richardson was shot.
Investigators believe the women’s bodies were put into the trunk of a vehicle, and the men made stops on U.S. 411 to buy gloves, a Perrier water and a Black and Mild cigar. Police say the men also made a stop to sell synthetic marijuana at an apartment complex.
Workers with the Georgia Department of Transportation discovered the bodies while conducting a bridge inspection on the East Rome Bypass near Grizzard Park. Richardson’s vehicle was later discovered burned.
According to police, Brown learned later that the women hadn’t taken his wallet. His mother discovered it behind the television in his living room.
Brown has not been extradited to Alabama.
