Lexington County deputies say the man suspected of shooting and killing two sisters at a home has been found dead.
Officers said late Monday afternoon that the suspected gunman, identified by the coroner as 27-year-old Tyrone Durham Jr., was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his car parked in Richland County. They did not say how Durham was connected to the victims and his identity was not immediately available.
The victims were found at a home in the 200 block of Woodcote Drive, which is near Gaston. The Lexington County Coroner identified the two as sisters 20-year-old Jaimey McKenzie Green and 25-year-old Jazzmyne Aiytia Onisha Green. Both died of gunshot wounds, the coroner confirmed.
Officers said earlier that, based on information they collected, it appears to be an isolated incident and there was no reason to believe there was an ongoing threat to the community.
Detectives spoke with neighbors near the scene about what they might have seen and heard around 9:15 a.m., which is around the time the gunfire was first reported.
Deputies did not yet say what they think led up to the shooting.
They did add they continue to follow leads.
