The Gwinnett Police Department said it has charged Oluwadamilola Imafiabor with murder in the second degree and cruelty to children in the second degree after she failed to seek medical attention for her one-year-old son.

Gwinnett police said officers went to a residence in the 200 block of Seasons Parkway in Norcross on Christmas Day where they found the deceased 1-year-old.

Imafiabor, the 29-year-old mother and Norcross resident, reported the child was run over by a truck on Dec. 24 while playing outside. Initially, she told police the child appeared to be fine after the incident but died later during the night.

Police said an autopsy was performed on the child, and the injuries appear to be inconsistent with the story provided by Imafiabor.

Gwinnett police are asking anyone with information to share in the case to contact GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300. To remain anonymous, tipsters should contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.stopcrimeATL.com.

Crime Stoppers tipsters can receive a cash reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
