A 25-year-old Michigan woman was shot and killed Saturday morning inside her Detroit apartment, police said.

Police said the shooting happened at 9:45 a.m. on Schaefer Highway. The woman was allegedly shot by a man who fled the scene. She was found suffering from seven gunshot wounds inside her apartment.

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Denisha Holloway.

Reports say her mother was in another room inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.

Police say that the possible suspect is a medium build male with short hair and facial hair. The suspect is believed to be in their 20s. It is also said that it is possible the suspect was last seen wearing all black clothing.

Detectives are currently working on leads for this crime. Police are encouraging the suspect to turn themselves in.
