A 23-year-old pregnant Oklahoma woman was arrested for rape after police said she had sex with a 13-year-old boy numerous times during the course of a year.

According to court documents, Tyronea Powell moved in with the teenager and his family in Guthrie about two years ago. Police said the homeowner told authorities she was a family friend who was “down on her luck and didn’t have a play to stay.”

The investigation began on April 11 after someone living in the home said they saw what they believed to be sexual activity between Powell and the teenager.

Police said they interviewed the teenager that day and added he initially denied any sexual activity.

A few weeks later, police said the teenager’s mother told them he had an emotional breakdown and admitted to the sexual encounters.

When interviewed again on May 5, police said the teen became emotional and admitted that he had sex with Powell 10-11 times from the summer of 2021 until they were caught on April 10. The teen said the sexual activity took place in the den while others in the house were sleeping, according to authorities.

Police said Powell is seven months to eight months pregnant and they believe it’s “very possible” she is pregnant with the teenager’s child. When asked if it was possible that Powell was pregnant with his child, police said the teen shrugged his shoulders and said he didn’t know.

A DNA swab of the child will be taken once it’s born to confirm if the teen is the father.

According to police, the teenager didn’t tell anyone about having sex with Powell because he knew it was wrong based on their ages.

Police said the teen told them he never forced himself on Powell, and she never forced herself on him.

Powell hired a lawyer and didn’t want to talk about the alleged incidents, police said.

She was ordered not to have any contact with the teen. Her bond was set at $20,000.
