A Massachusetts man accused of robbing and assaulting an 80-year-old woman who later died in a fire in her Attleboro home will also be charged with murder and arson, officials said Tuesday.

42-year-old Adam Rollins was accused of robbing and assaulting 80-year-old Judith Henriques, who died November 18 in an early morning fire in her home at 30 Division St.

Henriques was found inside the home by firefighters shortly after they extinguished the blaze.

Rollins is charged with her murder and the arson of her home, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III said.

During his arraignment last week, prosecutors said there is evidence that places Rollins inside Henriques’ home the night it caught fire, including a pair of sneakers and alcohol nips, and there was additional evidence that suggests Henriques was not killed by the fire.

According to prosecutors, Henriques’ family also reported about $1,200 worth of jewelry missing from her home and that it was later recovered by family members near the house, along with an ATM card with Rollins’ name on it.

Adam Rollins will likely be arraigned Tuesday in Attleboro District Court on the two new charges, officials said.
