A South Carolina woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after she admitted to fatally shooting her husband, according to the solicitor, Barry Barnette.
Barnett said 55-year-old Shelia Denise Lebron, 55, of Roebuck, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime on Monday.
She will serve 85 percent of her prison sentence before she is eligible for release.
Lebron fatally shot 62-year-old Jasper Bernard Brian at their Stonecrest Drive home in the Roebuck community on Feb. 2, 2020, according to Barnett.
The victim was found in the kitchen of the home with a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Investigators said Brian was in the process of moving his clothing and other personal items out of the house when he was shot.
More personal belongings were found in Brian’s car.
During their investigation, deputies said they found text messages that documented marital difficulties.
Lebron had no prior criminal record.
