A 3-year-old Virginia girl was killed and four teenagers suffered life-threatening injuries during a shooting at a home in Dumfries, Virginia Wednesday night, the Prince William County Police Department said.

Authorities said detectives arrested and charged 20-year-old Kenyatta Lee Oglesby with the shooting.

Four other people who were shot ranged in age from 14 to 17 years old. They were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries, said police.

Authorities said officers were called to a home for a shooting shortly before 11 a.m. Officers found five people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds or other injuries, police said.

Police said Oglesby had been recently staying at the home and was in a relationship with one of the teenagers who was shot.

During a fight at the home, police said Oglesby shot the teenager in front of the home, as well as the other teens and the toddler.

A 13-year-old boy was in another area of the home and was uninjured during the encounter. Four of the victims, including the 3-year-old girl, and the unharmed 13-year-old boy, are siblings who live at the home. The fifth victim, a 14-year-old boy, also resided at the home and was unrelated to the other victims.

The victim was identified as 3-year-old Journee Carroll.

Police said the shooting was isolated to the home and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
