A 78-year-old Missouri woman has been charged with robbing a Pleasant Hill bank, according to authorities.

Bonnie Gooch was charged with stealing or attempting to steal from a financial institution.

The Goppert Financial Bank, located at 2100 N. Highway 7, was robbed at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers were provided a description of the suspect and vehicle she was driving.

She was taken into custody without incident by police on Highway 7.

A search warrant helped investigators find evidence linking on the woman to the bank robbery.

“Chief Wright commends the officers for their heads-up police work and to the bank staff for following their safety protocols and providing a great suspect/vehicle description,” police said in a statement.

A woman of the same name and approximate age was arrested in 2020 for a bank robbery in Lee’s Summit.

Gooch was also convicted in a bank robbery in California in 1977.
