A Pennsylvania man convicted of sexually abusing a child thousands of times was sentenced to 3000 years prison time for each and every assault.

In November, a jury found Matthew Perry of Greensboro guilty of raping the victim at least once a day for six years.

Authorities charged him with a total of 13,143 counts, including:

  • 2,190 felony charges of rape of a child under 13
  • 2,190 felony charges of deviate sexual intercourse with a child
  • 2,191 felony charges of aggravated indecent assault
  • 2,190 felony charges of incest of a minor
  • 2,191 felony charges of indecent assault
  • 2,191 felony charges of corruption of minors

“The child was raped over and over and over again, so why wouldn’t you prosecute the one count for every single time the child was raped?” said Greene County District Attorney David Russo.

The jury deliberated for four days before delivering the final verdict.

“This brave little girl testified at trial that being raped every day became as normal as brushing your teeth,” Russo said. “The testimony was horrifying.”

On Tuesday, Perry was sentenced to a total of 3,000 years in prison, meaning he wouldn’t be eligible for parole until 3523.

“I am proud to announce Matthew Perry would have to live for 3,000 years in order to pay his debt to society,” said Russo.

Russo called the sentence a “milestone.”

“This was a difficult case that arose from a difficult situation. I want to thank the jury for their service and the State Police investigators for their diligence,” he said in November. “The children of Greene County are the future of Greene County and we will not tolerate crimes against our children.”
