A 24-year-old Florida woman is charged with pouring lighter fluid on another woman and lighting her on fire.

Darneque Jones is charged with aggravated battery and damaging property. She was arrested Monday afternoon and is being held in Escambia County Jail on $252,500 bond.

The incident happened last Tuesday around 9:25 p.m. in the 9000-block of Holsberry Road in Pensacola.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies located a woman with significant burns on her arms, neck and back. The report states deputies found her “curled up underneath a water spigot.”

She was hospitalized for treatment with burns to approximately 30 percent of her body, according to the report.

“Darneque Jones had been in an argument with the victim when Jones poured lighter fluid on the victim and lit her on fire,” deputies say in a release.

No further details have been released.
