An Ohio woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly attempting to drown her 7-month-old child in a bathtub, according to court documents.

Court records say on May 30, 2023, 23-year-old Ty’Asia Johnson submerged her child, including the infant’s entire face, underwater in a bathtub in an attempt to drown them.

Documents allege Johnson told the child’s father that she was going to kill the child, but the father went to stop Johnson, grabbing the baby and preventing a fatal drowning.

Johnson has been charged with one count of attempted murder.

A judge ruled Johnson’s bond be 10% of $100,000 and she is ordered to have no contact with her child or the child’s father if she is released on bond. She is also ordered to wear an electronic monitoring device if her bond is met.
