A 41-year-old Kansas woman and a juvenile boy both are dead after being involved in a shooting that took place on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 6, inside a Louisburg home in a neighborhood across from Rockville Elementary.

Louisburg police officers and members of the Miami County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the residence late Friday afternoon in response to a report of a possible shooting, according to a release from the Louisburg Police Department issued by the city.

Law enforcement officials made entry into the residence and found an adult female who was deceased. She was later identified as 41-year-old Susan Stanford.

They also located a juvenile boy with life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

The boy was transported to an area hospital and later died, according to an updated release from the Louisburg Police Department.

Police Chief Josh Weber said the incident remains under investigation, but the police department’s release states that officers are not looking for any suspects, and there is no elevated level of threat to the public.
