A Louisiana man reportedly broke into a home, shooting and killing his estranged wife and then himself, according to reports.
On November 3, at 10:21 p.m., the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to a shooting on the 1600 block of Mayhaw Circle in the Martin Luther King neighborhood. When officers arrived, they discovered two people dead inside of a residence.
An initial investigation revealed that 37-year-old Desmond Edwards had forcibly made entry into the front door of the home. Edwards then shot and killed his estranged wife, 36-year-old Lakerrica Washington before turning the gun on himself.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s office states that both Edwards and Washington were dead at 10:36 p.m. and that autopsies have been ordered for both of them.
The investigation is still ongoing.
