The 29-year-old Virginia woman accused of murder was found guilty for shooting and killing a man on Christmas, December 25, 2022, according to reports.

A jury found Ra’Mya Stewart guilty on November 9 for the murder of 34-year-old Johnnie Freeman.

The two-day jury trial concluded Thursday. Evidence showed Freeman attended a holiday party at Stewart’s home the night he was murdered, officials said. While there, Freeman was involved in an incident with Stewart and her relative, and left the home.

When Freeman was outside the house with his girlfriend, Stewart came out and shot Freeman in the head from her porch, officials said. He was dead at the scene when medics arrived.

Stewart turned herself in to Chesapeake Police later that day.

Stewart was found guilty of first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting in the commission of a felony.

She now faces life in prison, and is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 22, 2024.
