According to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast, 10-year-old Michigan boy, Ethan Anewishki, who suffered a gunshot wound in what investigators are calling a murder-suicide has died.
Ethan’s mother, 38-year-old Melissa Anewishki, was pronounced dead on Monday morning at a housing complex in Shelby Township.
A family friend of Melissa said she had been showing signs of depression, according to Mast.
This is a real incident, a real issue of a mental health tragedy,” Mast said. “The mother, she had been suffering from depression, she’d been suffering from some mental health issues and today that all got the best of her and she hurt her son really bad too.”
