Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters in Ohio announced the indictment of a 16-year-old boy on triple murder charges on Friday.

16-year-old Michael Madaris is accused of fatally shooting three men in 2021, when he was 15 years old, as well as robbing and abducting other victims.

Madaris allegedly murdered 18-year-old Avante Beatty on Sept. 27 in Cincinnati.

About a month later, police say he killed both 39-year-old Yarsellay Sammie, Sr. and 16-year-old Javier Randolph in Evanston.

Officials say they believe Madaris targeted the men because they were rival gang members.

“The fact that 15-year-olds are running around this city executing others is hard to believe,” Deters said. “This type of violent criminal is not fixable, and this office will do everything in our power to ensure this guy never gets out.”

Madaris is being tried as an adult for six counts of murder, five counts of felonious assault, three counts of kidnapping, and two counts of abduction. He is being held on an $8 million bail.

He is also charged with one county of burglary, tampering with evidence, carrying a concealed weapon, and obstructing official business.

If convicted on all counts, he faces the possibility of life in prison.
