Douglas County prosecutors in Nebraska are prosecuting a 15-year-old boy as an adult for first-degree murder.
Carmelo Wells, who is also charged with use of a weapon to commit a felony and criminal conspiracy, appeared in Douglas County court Friday morning.

Prosecutors said he brought a gun into Omaha North High School on Aug. 30, left minutes later and drove with an accomplice to a home on Curtis Avenue.
On Friday, Omaha police said they arrested a 13-year-old boy in relation to the homicide.
Investigators said that’s where the 13-year-old entered the home, threatened a woman, then shot her 19-year-old son Alon Reed.
Reed suffered nine gunshot wounds.
The 13-year-old faces charges of first-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony and criminal conspiracy, according to authorities.
Wells is also accused of helping the gunman leave the scene.
