A 30-year-old Georgia man has been arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault in the shooting death of his reported girlfriend late Sunday night.

Albany police responded to the 1100 block of Julia Avenue at around 11:23 p.m. in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, they found 32-year-old Nakeisha Warren inside the residence, deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.

During the investigation, Albany Police Department officers determined that the victim’s boyfriend, 30-year-old Rico Lashon Hall had shot the victim and fled the scene in the victim’s Nissan Altima.

A short while later, officers received a report that Hall had wrecked the vehicle on De Short Road in Sasser and left the wreck on foot.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., investigators received a call from a Terrell County Sheriff’s Office deputy indicating that a male had been spotted walking toward Albany along U.S. Highway 82 West, near Mark’s Melon Patch. APD investigators responded to the area and spotted Hall on the 400 block of Highway 82. He was taken into custody but refused to speak to officers regarding the homicide.

Hall was transported to the Dougherty County Jail and charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS or call an APD investigator at (229) 302-0782.
