A 36-year-old Ohio man has accepted a plea deal in connection to the 2022 murder of his 3-month-old son, according to reports.
Earnest Alexander has accepted a plea deal for the January 2022 death of King Kai Alexander.
Court documents show Alexander pleaded guilty Dec. 19 to reduced charges of manslaughter and endangering children. He was sentenced to 11 to 15 years in prison.
The jury trial for the 36-year-old Cleveland dad accused of killing his three-month-old son in 2022 was continued to Jan. 8, 2024 in October.
Six of the eight charges of against Alexander, including aggravated murder and murder, were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
The baby died on Jan. 3, 2022 at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital of “blunt force injuries,” according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.
The baby’s mother, Shatika Moss, is charged with tampering with evidence and endangering children. Her trial is scheduled to begin in January.
